Redhill Sports Festival 2025 delivers high energy across Gauteng Schools
A week of high-intensity, fast-format sports brings together 20 schools across Johannesburg in a reimagined annual event.

As the sun set, the atmosphere at Redhill’s state-of-the-art HPC pool turned electric. The boys’ tournament ended with St Benedict’s taking top honours, defeating hosts Redhill 5-1 in a tense clash.
On the girls’ side, Beaulieu College claimed victory overall, while Redhill’s girls’ team edged out Rand Park in a nail-biting 6-5 win.
Now in its fourth year, the Redhill Sports Festival has grown from a tri-sport event into a fully-fledged, inclusive celebration of school sport.
“We’ve taken what used to be a rugby, netball, and hockey festival and turned it into a true multi-sport experience,” said Roelof Kotze, Redhill School’s head of sport.
“It’s all about exposing our students to different sports and giving them a chance to compete in formats they may not usually play – and most importantly, to have fun doing it.”
Kotze emphasised that while bragging rights are always on the line, the real prize is participation.

“Yes, we’ve got some great sponsors who’ve helped with small prizes, but this festival is more about camaraderie, exposure, and sports diversity. It’s fast, fun, and Redhill through and through.”
