“Workplace wellness is more than just physical health; it includes supporting employees’ mental and emotional needs. Events like this encourage staff to take active steps toward a healthier work environment,” said Refiloe Mmethi, the communication officer at the centre.
The day also offered on-site health screenings, including TB and breast cancer checks, along with HIV and AIDS counselling and testing. In addition, several exhibitors and partners participated, providing educational resources and guidance for maintaining mental and emotional wellness.

Hospital management emphasised that mental health initiatives were an essential part of creating productive, supportive workplaces. By combining interactive activities with health services, the centre aims to encourage a culture of openness, dialogue, and proactive care for mental health challenges.

“This event is about more than awareness; it’s about action. We hope it inspires our staff to prioritise their mental health and creates a ripple effect across other workplaces in the community.”
