Michael Mount welcomes Grade 1 learners with school tradition
Marketing and communications director of Michael Mount Waldorf School, Christine Seuffert, share the importance of the rose ceremony which occurred on January 18.
Since the beginning of time, Michael Mount Waldorf School has always welcomed and celebrated their new Grade 1 learners by hosting a school tradition known as the rose ceremony which occurred on January 18.
The significance of one of the longest-running ceremonies practised at the school symbolises the transition of both young and old learners of Michael Mount.

During the course of the ceremony, Grade 1 learners are accompanied by the Grade 8s to the auditorium whereby the school guardians welcome them with an inspiring story.
As stated by the marketing and communications director of the school, Christine Seuffert, the current Grade 12 learners also play a vital role in the welcoming session.
“The matrics who are nearing the end of their schooling, present each Grade 1 child with a rose to signify the beginning of their school journey. Afterwards, the children return to their classroom with their class teacher, Janay Glass,” said Seuffert.
