Take note of road closures ahead of JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

The JP Morgan Corporate Challenge team advises residents who stay along the roads which will be closed to return home before 17:00 or plan to come back after 20:30 on the day.

Road users, and the general public, are hereby informed of temporary road restrictions related to the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge Johannesburg, scheduled for March 13, in the Melrose and Birdhaven suburbs.

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) has approved these restrictions to ensure participant safety while minimising traffic disruptions in the affected areas.

The 20th running of the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, recognised as the largest corporate running event globally, will take place from 18:30 to 20:00.

Temporary road restrictions will start as early as 08:00, and remain in effect until 20:00 in the Rosebank, Melrose, and Birdhaven precinct.

Trained traffic marshals, wearing red and green bibs, will manage all crucial intersections along the race route.

Participants, including employees from diverse companies, notable ambassadors, as well as government officials representing the race beneficiary, the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, are expected to gather at The Wanderers Cricket Club from 15:00 onward.

The temporary road restrictions aim to prevent parking that could obstruct the running route and inconvenience residents, as well as restrict participants from driving through Melrose, Birdhaven, Melrose North, Melrose Estate, and Melrose Arch to The Wanderers Club.
