Sandton murder breakthrough: Car linked to Olorato Mongale found

Police found the vehicle involved in the murder of 30-year-old Olorato Mongale, as the hunt continues for two suspects believed to be responsible .

Police have made a breakthrough in the murder investigation of Olorato Mongale (30), after seizing a VW Polo believed to have been used in the crime. The vehicle was found hidden at a panel beating workshop in Phoenix, Durban.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the seizure was the result of efforts by the SAPS anti-kidnapping task team, backed by the National Crime Intelligence Unit.

The discovery followed a series of leads that first took investigators to a lodge in Kew, Johannesburg, where two suspects had reportedly checked in. That trail then led police to KwaMashu, in Durban, eventually leading to uncovering the vehicle.

Police have now launched a manhunt for Fezile Ngubane and Philangenkosi Sibongokuhle Makhanya, warning the public that the pair are dangerous and should not be approached under any circumstances.

If spotted, people are urged to contact Brigadier Mxolisi Edwin Nama at 082 778 9035.

Authorities are urging the two suspects to surrender themselves at the nearest police station.
