Castle Lager, along with fans, honours Bafana Bafana at send-off
Supporters packed DP Wanderers Stadium to celebrate Bafana Bafana and wish the squad well ahead of their upcoming international assignment.
Castle Lager hosted a memorable send-off event for Bafana Bafana at DP Wanderers Stadium on May 30, bringing together supporters, football legends, and the national team for a celebration of South African football.

Held under the theme: Fans who stood the test of time, the event recognised the unwavering support that Bafana Bafana supporters have shown the national team through both triumphs and challenges over the years.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as supporters proudly donned national team colours and showed their appreciation for the players. Among those in attendance was former Bafana Bafana midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala, whose famous opening goal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup remains one of South Africa’s most iconic sporting moments.

Speaking during the interview, Tshabalala expressed confidence in the current squad. “I wish the boys all the best. They have worked hard to get where they are, and I am confident they will do well. The support they received here today shows how much the country believes in them.”

He also praised the fans for their continued loyalty to the national team. “Our supporters have always been there. Through good times and difficult times, they continue to rally behind Bafana Bafana, and that support means a lot to the players.”
