The world through a comedian’s eyes
MORNINGSIDE - Comedian Vittorio Leonardi sees the world slightly skewed, quirky and governed by cartoon law.
In his 15 years on stage, Leonardi said he had tried to show audiences a new way to see the world. The Italian stallion will be on stage performing his one-man show Vittorio’s Secret, at The Box, POPArt Centre in Johannesburg on 28 and 29 March. “I make my audience see the world as it could be if people threw a cream pie and learned to laugh,” he said. This will be his first official stand-up comedy event in Johannesburg. Vittorio’s Secret debuted at the Grahamstown Arts Festival in June 2012.
Leonardi has given three talks on comedy to Toastmasters South Africa and twice for Mensa. He has also given talks on the basics of comedy to the Grade 10 drama classes at St Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls in Pretoria for three consecutive years. He has been a resident emcee at various comedy nights across Gauteng including Tanz Café in Bryanston, The Venetian Showbar inside The Marco Polo Casino in Sandton, Montecasino and Gold Reef City Casino.
