Rand Show promises to be ‘Joburg’s best day out’

JOBURG – Tickets for the Rand Show are on sale now with many prizes to be won.

 


The 125th annual Rand Show, Joburg’s Best Day Out, was launched at the Nasrec Expo Centre and promises to provide entertainment for everyone.

The Rand Show began in 1894 and originally focused on agriculture. Since then the show has grown significantly and offers a wide range of pavilions from fitness to gaming. This year the show will be hosted from 19 to 28 April.

The CEO of the Rand Show, Craig Newman said, “This used to be the biggest event on the South African calendar, at one point it lasted for 27 days and the whole country came to a standstill. But, what the Rand Show has always been about is creating great memories.”

Caxton Local Media has partnered with the show this year and Jaco Koekemoer, the managing director of Caxton Local Media said the Rand Show not only offers visitors an entertaining family experience but plays an important role in people’s businesses as it offers a place to earn a living and create jobs.

“We have no doubt that in this important landmark year, the experience on offer will exceed expectations,” said Koekemoer.

The Rand Show boasts an impressive offering of prizes to be won in each category. The new fashion, fitness and beauty pavilion will showcase a variety of classes to participate in as well as a variety of goods and services. There will also be fitness model competitions where hopeful models will have the chance to win R125 000 in prizes.

The Caxton publication Garden and Home pavilion at the Rand Show will showcase the South African National Biodiversity Institute flower display and visitors could win a trip to the Chelsea Flower Show. Visitors also stand a chance to win a complete kitchen makeover.

Other exciting attractions this year will include the military show where the South African Military will show off some of the vehicles they use as well as perform combat fighting demonstrations and synchronised aerial displays.

This year the show has an extra-special surprise for a lucky ticket holder. Those who purchase their tickets online stand a chance to win a Suzuki Swift, who could want more?
