SPCA: ‘Thank you for the incredible support’
While they have received many generous donations, the Vereeniging/Vanderbijlpark SPCA is still short of blankets.

VEREENIGING – “Following our recent break-in, we were overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and compassion shown by our community”.
These are the words of Marlien de Klerk, manager of the Vereeniging/Vanderbijlpark SPCA. Both SPCA’s are run and managed from the Vereeniging branch.
It was a low blow when thieves broke in last week and stole the SPCA’s washing machine, blankets for the animals in their care and other important items.

“We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every individual, family, business, and organisation that came forward to assist.
“Whether you donated blankets, dog beds, washing baskets, plastic tubs, food, or made a monetary contribution, please know that your support has made a real difference to the animals in our care.
“The outpouring of support has reminded us that while there are those who choose to take from a charity, there are far more people who choose to give. For that, we are deeply grateful,” says De Klerk.
With winter settling in and temperatures continuing to drop, they would greatly appreciate any additional blanket donations.
“Our goal is simple: to ensure that every animal in our care has a warm, comfortable place to sleep during the cold months ahead”.
If you are able to donate new or gently used blankets, please consider dropping them off at our SPCA in General Smuts Avenue 58, Duncanville, Vereeniging.
