A municipal employee was murdered while on duty during the past week. Two Sotho-speaking suspects allegedly shot and killed an employee during an armed robbery at the waterworks on the Welverdiend road on 22
July. The complainant alleges that he received a call from the radio control about a shooting incident at the waterworks while on duty at around 23:00. Upon his arrival at the scene, a cleaner who identified herself as Elizah Skhosana told him that the suspects had attacked the employees, demanding firearms. They ordered her and the other employees to lie down and shots were fired. A worker, identified as Mojaki Seatlholo, was shot in the head before the balaclava-masked suspects fled the scene with two cellular phones and hand radios.
