Ethiopian national arrested with illegal gun

It is alleged that t police got a tip-off from the community and rushed to the scene where they seized a 9mm pistol with the numbers filed off, eight 9mm live rounds and a magazine which was found fastened to his waist.

EVATON. – Evaton Police operation in conjunction with Sedibeng Cluster task team arrested a 32-year old Ethiopian national for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunitions at his tuck-shop in Eatonside, Evaton recently.

It is alleged that t police got a tip-off from the community and rushed to the scene where they seized a 9mm pistol with the numbers filed off, eight 9mm live rounds and a magazine which was found fastened to his waist.

 Evaton SAPS spokesperson Captain Aubrey Moopeloa said:
“We would like to thank the community for the information that has led to the arrest of the suspect and hope they will continue to do so all the time.”
