A 28-year-old man is in a serious condition after he was knocked down by a car on Blackwood Street in Vereeniging this afternoon.

Werner Vermaak, ER24 Spokesperson, reports that at approximately 3pm this afternoon (October 7) paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man lying several meters behind the vehicle. He sustained several fractures and possible head injuries. Paramedics stabilised him on scene and rushed him to Sebokeng Hospital for further care.

The occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

Local authorities attended the scene.
