Couple looking after grandchildren shot during apparent house robbery

A man and a woman believed to be in their 50’s were shot during an apparent house robbery yesterday morning.

ER24 paramedics attended to the incident, in Umgeni Road, Lethabong, and found the woman seated at the back of a vehicle and the man limping on scene.

Upon assessment of the woman, it was found that she was in a critical condition. She had been shot in the abdomen.

On furthet assessment of the man it was found that he had sustained a gunshot wound to the left foot. The patients were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown however, it is understood that the couple were shot while looking after their grandchildren at the property.
