Phoenix Park chaos a headache to residents?

"Although people from all over see this as an opportunity to come and have a good time, residents suffer the most because of the uncontrolled crowd. The people also leave their rubbish everywhere and it just makes the area look filthy."

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Phoenix Park in Vanderbijlpark seems to be a headache to residents in and around the area more than anything.

This follows complaints from residents after some of the people visitting the park yesterday decided to camp in driveways and gardens, parking their cars with loud music right infront of residences.

The issue of Phoenix Park has sparked a lot of debate with others saying that it should only be for people residing in the area.

“Although people from all over see this as an opportunity to come and have a good time, residents suffer the most because of the uncontrolled crowd. The people also leave their rubbish everywhere and it just makes the area look filthy,” says one complainant.

Sedibeng Ster will be sending a media enquiry to Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) for further information on the issue.
