Two persons died this afternoon (Saturday, 25-2-2017) in a collision on the R82 just outside Vereeniging. According to Chris Botha,Media Liaison Officer at Netcare 911, the two vehicles apparently collided head-on. Paramedics arrived on the scene and found accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles consistent with that of a high-impact collision.

Debris were spread over a large area. One of the vehicles overturned and came to rest on its roof. Medics found that both drivers tragically died on impact due to the extensive injuries that they sustained. The identity of the deceased are not available yet. The relevant authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
