VANDERBIJLPARK. – ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring reports that a young boy, believed to be 18-months-old, drowned yesterday in a swimming pool in a residential complex in Vanderbijlpark.

“ER24 paramedics were called to the scene when the grandmother was unable to find the child. After sometime, the grandmother and neighbours found the boy lying in the swimming pool.

“Upon arrival, ER24 paramedics found the grandmother performing CPR on the child. Paramedics took over CPR and initiated advanced life support interventions.”

Meiring adds that no signs of life returned and the child was pronounced dead on the scene.
