SHARPEVILLE. -Police Spokesperson Captain Attie Loate has confirmed that a driver who fled the scene after hitting a woman on Saturday, April 1st only reported to the police station on Monday, two days after the accident.
Loate confirms that the victim, Lerato Portia Setshedi ( 31) had been walking home that night when she was hit by the car that was said to be driving at a very high speed. “The victim was admitted at Sebokeng Hospital where she passed on.”
According to Family Spokesperson Mapule Modise, doctors confirmed that Setshedi had brain damage.
Loate confirms that the initial charge of reckless and negligent driving has been changed to that of culpable homicide.
