A man, believed to be in his 70s, was killed last night (13-10-2017) in an alleged farm attack on a plot on a farm outside of Potchefstroom.

Russel Meiring, a spokesperson for ER24, says when paramedics arrived on the scene, they found an elderly man lying outside. Local security forces were already on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the man and found no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene.

It is understood that three gunmen had entered the property when a scuffle ensued in which the man lost his life.

Local authorities were on the scene and are busy with the investigation.
