Euro Crossing Centre management hires security to curb card theft

This follows an alert from the Vereeniging police recently that the public not use the ATM's as there are criminals stealing cards belonging to customers.

VEREENIGING. – The owner of Euro Crossing Centre in Three Rivers, Yianni Giannacopoulos has urged the public using the ATMs at the centre to refrain from talking to any strangers and report any suspicious behavior to management. This follows an alert from the Vereeniging police recently that the public not use the ATM’s as there are criminals stealing cards belonging to customers.

Giannacopoulos says, “After criminal activity was brought to our attention at the ATM’s at the centre we went directly to the station commander and have been in constant contact with the Vereeniging SAPS regarding the situation. We also notified the respective banks who rent their respective areas from us of the situation, yet have received no assistance from them.

“We were previously advised not to hire an additional security guard as the situation was under investigation by the police, however as from today there will be a security guard at the premises for the safety of our customers. We continue to be vigilant and hopefully with the help of the police further incidents can be avoided.”
