Industrial accident leaves man critically injured

A man believed to be in his 50s had to be treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions yesterday afternoon.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- A man believed to be in his 50s had to be treated for his injuries and provided with advanced life support interventions yesterday afternoon. The man was left critically injured following an industrial accident at a factory in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 14h04 to find him lying in a chair. It is understood that the man had slipped off a ladder, falling two metres. The man was lifted into a chair by his colleagues.

Paramedics assessed the patient and found that he had sustained a serious head injury which left him in a critical condition. The man was subsequently  flown to a private hospital for urgent treatment. An investigation will be launched into this incident.
