Man knocked off bicycle, left critically injured

Russel Meiring, Communications Office, reported hat a 42-year-old man was left seriously injured this morning 3 June when he was knocked off his bicycle at the R57 and Dube Intersection in Bophelong.

ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 07:30 to find the man lying on the side of the road. The taxi that had struck the man was parked a short distance away. Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained injuries to his head and right leg, leaving him in a serious condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Sebokeng Provincial hospital for further care. Local authorities will be investigating further.
