
MEYERTON. – A man, believed to have been in his 50s, was killed this afternoon, Monday 8 July, when he was struck by a bakkie on Johan Le Roux Street in Meyerton.
ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 17:35 to find the body of a man lying on the side of the road. Provincial Fire Services had already initiated CPR interventions. Medics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead. The driver of the bakkie fortunately escaped injury.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
