Mokhobo applauded for going beyond the call of duty

VEREENIGIng. – Vereeniging Pathcare has applauded the actions of the Midvaal night shift courier, James Mokhobo for going beyond the call of duty recently.

On his way from Midvaal Private Hospital to deliver specimen to Pathcare Vereeniging, Mokhobo was confronted by a group of protesters who had dangerous weapons in their possession including guns.

Mokhobo was told that he could not pass as the roads were barricaded.

Instead of turning back, he parked his car outside the Vereeniging CBD and walked to Pathcare, ensuring that the specimen got delivered on time.

He did this twice before his shift ended.

Mokhobo says, “It was dangerous for me to walk to the hospital but people’s lives are more important. Doctors rely on these tests in order to help their patients and if specimen does not get to the lab on time, there could be delays that can cause people their lives.”

Mokhobo, who is very passionate about his job said that one should always put humanity first. “Love, Respect and humility. These are very important values in life.”

The staff of Pathcare Vereeeniging say they are very proud of James. “Not once did he consider his own safety. He was just concerned for the patients who needed treatment. We’re so proud of you, James. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to proving a service of excellence.”
