Deputy President and Minister will visit Sebokeng Water Works

The Department of Water & Sanitation says the ultimate aim of this visit is to discuss at length critical issues that relate to this important intervention at the Vaal and hopefully unlock any issues that might delay the completion of the task at hand

The Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Ms. Lindiwe Sisulu, will accompany the Deputy President HE DD Mabuza during the Deputy President’s Project Monitoring Visit to the Sebokeng Regional Sewer Scheme (SRSS) in Sebokeng tomorrow (12th September).

According to a media statement by the Department of Water and Sanitation, Deputy President Mabuza and Minister Sisulu will be in the company of high ranking politicians of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature as well as from the respective Sedibeng District Municipality and in particular Emfuleni Local Municipality.

It is envisaged that the Deputy President and entourage will be briefed on the progress regarding the upgrades to the SRSS, the government’s intervention in the Vaal River clean-up, as well as other matters related to developments in the area dependent on a well-functioning sewer and reticulation scheme for the Vaal area.

The visit will include a site inspection at the SRSS.
