DE DEUR. A 58-year-old woman was raped during a house robbery at Elandsfontein in De Deur recently.
It is said that about 22:00, whilst she was sleeping, an unknown man came in through the window, threatened her with a knife and demanded money. The suspect then tied her hands with a cloth and raped her repeatedly.
“He then searched for valuables and took off with her clothes and cellphone all to the estimated value of R5000,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Tshegofatso Maliehe.
De Deur Police Station Commander Colonel Lydia Landingwe appeals to the community to come forth and work hand in hand with the police to bring perpetrators of crime to justice.
