The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has announced a planned power outage in the entire Vanderbijilpark.

According to ELM the Electrical Department will on Thursday (13 August) implement an emergency power supply interruption to repair a loose 88kv conductor at the Vanderbijlpark Munic Substation.

The outage will affect the entire Vanderbijlpark area from 09:00 to 12:00, while the NE 3 Industrial area, Tshepiso Phase 5 and Boipatong areas will be affected from 09:00 until 17:00.

“No guarantee can be given that the supply will remain off for the duration of the shutdown and therefore, residents are warned to treat all electrical circuits and appliances as LIVE at all times. The municipality hereby apologizes for the inconvenience of the shutdown.”
