Boy declared dead following drowning

MEYERTON.- A boy, believed to be 13-years-old, was declared dead following a fatal drowning at a pool in Meyerton on Sunday afternoon.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 13h30, they found lifeguards performing CPR on the boy.

Paramedics continued with the CPR, but unfortunately despite the efforts of all involved the boy’s vital signs rapidly diminished. Unfortunately, he was declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but police were on the scene for further investigations.
