Emfuleni teams promoted to SAB League

Vaal United and Juventus FC will campaign in the SAFA Sedibeng SAB League next season.

MEYERTON.- Vaal United and Juventus FC will campaign in the SAFA Sedibeng SAB League next season.
This is after these Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) teams did well at the regional play-offs held at the Meyerton Stadium over the weekend.
The play-offs involved Lesedi Local Football Association, Midvaal Local Football Association and Emfuleni Local Football Association. Vaal United FC and Juventus FC were declared the winners in Super League A and B Stream respectively.

This was after SAFA announced that the number one teams in all provinces and region must be declared the winners due to COVID-19.
However, this has sparked a controversy with some teams believing that they had great opportunity to win the league regardless of their positions on the log especially those who were second on the log.

Meanwhile, the Gauteng Promotion Play-offs which are currently taking place in Pretoria will be decided this weekend when three teams will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League in the new season. It was mix of results for NWU Vaal FC when they beat Highlands Park FC 3-1 in the first game. However, they lost 3-2 to Maholosiane FC in the second game of the day. The top three teams will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League at the end of the play-offs.
As things stand, NWU Vaal FC is second on the log standings and their chances to gain promotion are 99% if they win their next games this weekend.
