VEREENIGING. – Vereeniging Magistrate Retha Willemse today denied murder accused Zaheera Boomgard’s bail application. Willemse said that Boomgaard had been accused of serious offenses and that the evidence presented by the state was overwhelming. Boomgaard is charged with two counts of murder, kidnapping, fraud and theft.
Boomgaard is accused of murdering Jamnadas Harkant Nathvani (71), a British National who travelled to South Africa to meet her.
Boomgaard is also charged with murdering her friend, Lynette Mustapha.

Boomgaard was arrested in Gauteng recently after the discovery of the remains of Mustapha, which ultimately led the police to the body of Nathvani.
Willemse said that the case would be moved to high court. Boomgard’s next court appearance will be on January 29.
