Police engage Liquor Traders

ORANGE FARM.- The Sedibeng District Intervention Team led by Lieutenant Colonel Gulashe recently held a Liquor Traders meeting with stakeholders in Orange Farm.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the Gauteng Liquor Act, including compliance with the Act, compliance with COVID-19 Regulations, carrying of dangerous weapons by customers and selling of drugs in places of drinking.

Police Spokesperson Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate says: “Another objective of the meeting was promoting and maintaining a good mutual relationship between Police and Liquor Traders.

“A good reporting process to the police when Liquor Traders spot unusual acts by customers was also discussed.” Sector Commanders, Social Crime Prevention Coordinator and Crime Prevention Team attended the meeting.

“After thorough discussions about liquor related matters, Liquor Traders agreed with the police to form a Liquor Traders Association that will hold monthly meetings.

“The meetings will be information sessions where traders 1nd police discuss and inform each other on liquor trading matters.”
