Super League games postponed due to water crisis

The postponed games will play on June 16 at the same venues.

VANDERBIJLPARK.-  The much awaited Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League fixtures in the Vanderbijlpark Stream were posponed due to water crisis.

The water shortage has affected the Vanderbijlpark, Boipatong and Bophelong areas. The Vanderbijlpark Stream games were supposed to take place at Shakespeare and Boipatong Stadiums over the weekend. The above mentioned areas were without water since Friday until Monday afternoon.

The Emfuleni Local Football Association League Administrator, Teboho Mphaga send correspondence to the team Managers on Sunday morning.

“After we were told about the situation in Boitshepiville, we decided to postpone the Vanderbijlpark Stream games. We were told that there was no water on that side. For the sake of players and everyone’s safety we agreed to call off the games,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mphaga told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the postponed games will play on June 16 at the same venues.
