Kola is the last female referee standing

She  is still active officiating in the Emfuleni Local Football Association's (ELFA) Super League.

BOIPATONG.- despite her age Mantshadi Kola (47) is still the last  female referee standing, she has been a football referee for the past 30 years. Kola is still running up and down either as a referee or assistant referee. She  is still active officiating in the Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League. Apart being the referee, Kola is also SAFA Sedibeng SAB League and ABC Motsepe League match Commisioner and Assessor. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Kola said that her passion has kept her in this game. She fell in love with football at a young age playing for Ditshepo FC with boys. Kola will attend national Match Commisioner’s workshop to be hosted by SAFA scheduled to take place at the end of  this month. “I am still active, officiating in Super League, because there is shortage of referees especially female referees in the area. We must recruit young female referees especially. I’m no longer getting younger but there is nothing I can do because we have crisis of referees in this region,” she concluded.
