“No business as usual” : Tosunga Baninga

"We want justice because our sisters can't walk free in their own communities because of these rapists."

VEREENIGING.- Tosunga Baninga embarked on their campaign ‘No Business As Usual’ in support of rape victims at the Vereeniging Margistrates Court in Vereeniging on Friday. Friday was the day for the court appearance of a suspect in the case of Judith Nhlapo who was raped in Aprill. The case has been postponed to September 8. Tosunga Baninga is an NGO that stands up for women’s rights. On Friday the women formed a ‘wall’ outside the court to support their Nhlapo. Speaking with Sedibeng Ster, Tosunga Baninga representative, Nokufa Nhlapo (no relationship with the victim) said they were disappointed that the case was postponed without reasons given. “We want justice because our sisters can’t walk free in their own communities because of these rapists. As Tosunga Baninga we will continue to fight for  victims’ rights to ensure the rapists rot in jail,” she concluded.
