SEDIBENG.- Stuart Baxter apologised to Kaizer Chiefs fans after his team suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Royal AM in the Premier Soccer League at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
This was was the heaviest defeat for Amakhosi in the history of DSTV Premier Soccer League to date.
Speaking after the game, Baxter said this was an embarrassing defeat as he apologised to the club’s supporters in their absence at the stadium.
“I’m very disappointed with our performance and we could have done much better especially how we defended,” he said.
This was the back to back defeat for Amakhosi after they lost 2-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Royal AM started the game under pressure with Kaizer Chiefs throwing everything to them. Despite the great opportunities they created in the opening stage of the game, Chiefs failed to converted them. The game went to half time with Royal AM leading 1-0 courtesy of Bafana-Bafana striker, Victor Letsoalo.
Roy AM began where they left off in first half when they forced Kaizer Chiefs defenders to put their backs against the wall and their extraordinary labour was rewarded when the Bafana-Bafana striker completed his brace from a well taken set piece and after this it was raining with goals.
