Eligwa Aquatics Club to host swimming lessons

“We urge the community to come in numbers and take the opportunity of learning how to swim in order to save lives."

SHARPEVILLE.- The Eligwa Aquatics Club invites the members of the community, young and old to attend swimming lessons at the Sharpeville Swimming pool on September 24.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Eligwa Aquatics Club’s Tseliso Koatla said that as a country there is a need to be prepared to have more skilled people in lifesaving from each section of the community to be able to stand together and take the opportunity of learning devastating natural disasters such a flooding.

Koatla said many countries have experienced severe flooding in most parts of the world due to global warming, some of them being Belgium,  Germany, China and many parts of European during summer.

“We urge the community to come in numbers and take the opportunity of learning how to swim in order to save lives. We will be hosting an open day for all those who are interested, young and old. We all know that summer is that time of the year when as the community we experience heavy rains and to be ready, we must be skilled to protect ourselves. Look, at least in every family there must be someone who is skilled when it comes to swimming to protect his or her family during the heavy rains. So as Eligwa Aquatics Club we encourage the community to come in numbers because this is in their best interest,” he said.
