HTS Sasolburg’s Robotics learners ready for the future

The team was awarded fastest builders in the ‘Aircraft Building challenge’ and the members were also the fastest in the ‘Building of Gear challenge’.

HTS Sasolburg’s Grade 8 and 9 Robotics learners took part in the Fezile Dabi competition in Kroonstad from 28 to 30 September under the supervision of Mr Jaco Fourie and Mr Werner Jacobs. The learners, who qualified for the finals in Bloemfontein, finished 5th out of 13 teams. The top scorers in the ‘Crane challenge’ and ‘Bumper Car challenge’ were Lina Mandla Zibi, Kefuoe Mokoena, Thando Theletsane and Makaveli Maanlangobe, with builders Dominic Dias, Siyabonga Mokoena, Thembi Nhlapo and Sibusiso Mokoena, who put on an impressive performance. Siyabonga won his round in the ‘Claw challenge’.

The team was awarded fastest builders in the ‘Aircraft Building challenge’ and the members were also the fastest in the ‘Building of Gear challenge’.
