SHARPEVILLE. – The deceased was reportedly shot multiple times by a tenant who lives in the same yard.
Speaking to Ster North, Pitso’s cousin Tshepo Nketu said he believed that his brother’s murder was senseless.
“I received a call about my brother’s shooting in the early hours of Monday morning and rushed to his place of residence. On arrival, I found the gates locked. The neighbours told me that the suspect had fetched my brother from a local spot where he had been watching soccer on Sunday.
“In the recording that my brother left, the suspect is heard barging into my brother’s room moments later and accusing my brother of gossiping about him around the neighbourhood but it is not clear what the issue was.”
Nketu said his brother was shot several times during the confrontation.
“At one point in the past, the deceased and the suspect were very close. Pitso would even lend the suspect his car and that became a norm. I don’t know what went wrong between them. “
As a family, we are not happy about how Pitso was killed. All we want is for the law to take its course and justice to be served.”
Police Spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed the incident that took place on Sunday, 12 December.
“A suspect has been arrested and will be making an appearance in court soon.”
Pitso will be laid to rest in Lesotho.
