ER24 reports that a 47-year-old woman sustained critical injuries on Tuesday when three dogs attacked her at a residence in Miederpark, Potchefstroom.

ER24 along with Mooirivier Beskerming arrived at the scene to find the woman lying inside her home by the front door.

“Medics assessed the woman and found that she was in a critical condition, having suffered numerous bite wounds over most of her body.

“The patient was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before she was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent care.”

It is reported that a neighbour heard the woman screaming and jumped over the fence to assist.

“The dogs apparently attempted to attack the man as he jumped over the fence to rescue the critically injured woman.

“Bystanders on the scene explained that the man shot at the dogs as they tried to attack him.”

Local authorities and Potchefstroom Animal Welfare were on the scene for further investigations.
