Thugs steal expensive goods from St Luke Wesley Church

Among the damages included is the CCTV monitor and a  computer built -in-CPU.

SHARPEVILLE. For the third time in 13 months ,  the St Luke Methodist Church (Wesley) in Rooi Stene, Sharpeville has been broken into by thugs making way with expensive goods estimated to the tune of R60 000.

To date, cases were opened and no one has been brought to book. John Sefatsa,  church Steward told Sedibeng Ster that the congregation arrived as usual recently in the morning aming to praise and worship the Lord but what welcomed them caused devastation.

“We were devastated at the time we arrived to be met with both burglar doors vandalized. Checking through the inside building it was evident enough that this is the same modus operandi. This proves that the suspects knows the inside of the church.”

Sefatsa said that the suspects stole wires of the CCTV. To add injuries in the open wounds, the suspects further went to a locker where all sensitive systems are kept.

” Clever as they are,” said Sefatsa, “nothing was broken except that they took everything very smoothly.”

Among the damages included is the CCTV monitor and a  computer built-in-CPU. Kedibone Matlhakoane, who is also a church Steward said that the thugs mostly targeted the office of Reverend Lucky Mgabhi. A case of burglary has been opened by the Police.

The church members appeals to the community and anyone with information that can help police  to contact Sefatsa on 079 516 8899 or Matlhakoane on 082 597 2543.
