The future lies in reading!
“We need to nurture these young minds and they need to know from a young age that there is nothing that they need to fear in reading."

SHARPEVILLE.- In this developing world you can never be fully understood unless you know how to read and write, perfectly that is.
It is for this reason that the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), N’alibali and the Gauteng Province celebrated National Library Week at the Sediba Primary School in Sharpeville last week.
National Library Week which was from 14 to 20 March is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster ELM Librarian, Lehlohonolo Seboko said that education is key for the young minds to be fully developed.
“We need to nurture these young minds and they need to know from a young age that there is nothing that they need to fear in reading and becoming better people. Reading helps them to express themselves to have confidence and for the other party that they are, or will be engaging with in future, not to misunderstand them.”
Nal’ibali (Xhosa for “here’s the story”) is a national reading-for-enjoyment campaign to spark children’s potential through storytelling and reading.
