De Deur SAPS carry out human trafficking awareness campaign

De Deur SAPS recently partnered with the Community Policing  Forum (CPF) at Thulamtwana  in a door to door campaign.

DE DEUR.  –  The objective of  the campaign was to address human trafficking, child kidnapping and safety challenges brought by open velds in the area.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Maria Letsele says, ” Information pamphlets were distributed  to households in the area as well as on the streets.

“Another awareness was held in Lakeside together with patrollers on the same day. The two campaigns went well and the information disseminated will educate the community on rape incidents and robberies taking place in open velds.

“Parents will also learn about how to keep their young children safe which will result in the reduction of cases of  missing children.”
