Bullying rife at General Smuts High

Parents of learners at General Smuts High School  are concerned about the rise of bullying incidences on school premises.

VEREENIGING. – It is reported that a gang of about 30 learners dubbed ‘SA Mob’ is terrorizing learners at the school.

Annie Lefuka reported to the school last week after her son was assaulted by the gang.

Lefuka says, “When we arrived, we were told not to confront the gang because they are feared. The kids came to the car and told us that if we confront the bullies it would worsen their situation at school.

“My son was assaulted by the mob after he was accused of stealing sweets. You can just imagine 30 people beating up one person.

Lefuka said her son had been badly affected by the incident.

It is further alleged that another parent was assaulted by the mob on Thursday.

On Monday and Tuesday, parents went to the the school to demand the expulsion of the members of the gang.
