SEDIBENG.- The Play-offs were cancelled over the weekend due to the legal battle. Real Hearts FC feels very strong that were hard done by the region.
VUT FC have already played two games in the Play-offs and over the weekend they were supposed to play, however, the Play-offs were suspended until this matter has been resolved.
Sedibeng Ster Sport last week reported that Safa Sedibeng Regional Executive Officer Beauty Molise indicated that the matter was under investigation. This was after Real Hearts FC players were not registered and Safa Sedibeng took a decision to replace the team with VUT FC. Real Hearts FC’s legal team has challenged this decision writing a letter to Safa Provincial regarding the Play-offs. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, one of the clubs’ officials said Safa Sedibeng didn’t do justice in this matter.
“Look Safa Sedibeng could have gone to Safa national for assistance instead of replacing Real Hearts with VUT FC. I have no doubt that SAFA national could have sorted this matter out but look now where we find ourselves. This is not needed in our football because Real Hearts FC deserves to represent Sedibeng as the overall winners. They achieved this in the field of play not in the board room, unlike VUT FC. I also don’t see why VUT FC are to be blamed for this, as they were told to go there because their cards were in order according to Safa Sedibeng. Look, now the matter is at Arbitration, at a cost. unnecessarily. This is not what we want in our football,” said a club official who wanted to remain anonymous.
