Three men shot during home invasion in Tshepiso

The police in Boipatong are on the hunt for four armed suspects terrorizing the community.

SHARPEVILLE. – This follows a home invasion that left three men wounded after they were shot by unknown suspects.

The incident happened in the early hours of the morning on 04 September in Tshepiso Phase 3.

Police Spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that the complainant was asleep when he heard voices of men outside his shack forcing the door to open.

“The victim reports that at this time, he also pushed the door from the inside in an attempt to prevent the intruders from getting in.

” The suspects fired shot and the man was wounded.  Suspects managed to gain entry into the house and demanded money.”

Maxambela reports that at this time, the man instructed his wife to give the suspects his wallet, the woman threw the wallet outside and suspects took it.

“The neighbours came out of their shacks to check what was happening and this is when two other male victims aged 26 and 28 were shot in the mouth and buttocks respectively.

“Three ambulances arrived on the scene and all three victims were transported to Sebokeng hospital for further medical attention.”

Police are investigating a case of robbery and attempted murder.

“Police urgently require eye witnesses to assist in the investigation. Those with information can call  Boipatong SAPS, ” Maxambela concludes
