One of Seshauke’s childhood friend and business partner Tisetso Mokheseng, said he last saw the man moments before his brutal murder.
“We didn’t have electricity at our business place and I had organized a guy to sort the problem. Seshauke decided to accompany the man to his location just when we were about to close business. Apparently after dropping the electrician, unknown men came from nowhere and shot my buddy to death,” he said.
Mokheseng said he received an unknown call informing him of the shooting and immediately went to the scene.
“The caller just told me that my brother was shot and killed at Levai Mbatha. I rushed to the scene thinking it was my blood brother, little did I know it was him [Seshauke]. On my arrival, I found his car on the side of the road with his body pierced with bullets,” he added.
Mokheseng said he was devasted following the incident and couldn’t figure who might have wanted his friend dead.
“I am torn apart. Seshauke was my brother for many years. I’m trying to figure why he would be killed. He was a peacemaker and had no enemies. Seshauke didn’t deserve to die like this,” said the visibly saddened man.
Family spokesperson, Terrance Maduna (30) told the paper how they learnt of Seshauke’s murder.
“We got a call from a third party notifying us about the incident and some members of the family rushed to the scene to confirm,” he said.
Puleng Phuthulo (35) a family representative said “I was driving towards Seshauke’s home when I accidentally bumped the scene after I was told he was shot. While we were about to pass the scene, I saw his car and I knew it was true”.
Finishing each other’s sentences, Terrance said the family is left with many unanswered questions because Abel had left politics.
“We are heartbroken and trying to make sense of the incident and the motive behind our uncle’s killing. The man was a retired councilor. We struggling to understand why this is happening now,” he said.
Puleng said the family wants nothing but justice for Seshauke.
“We want to see justice prevail. The people who did this to baba Abel must be brought to book,” she said.
Gauteng Police spokesman Lieutenant Mavela Masondo has since said a case of murder was opened and a manhunt is underway.
