Sundowns completes double over Pirates

"We are professionals and we are not going to underestimate other teams thinking we have already won the league."

SEDIBENG.- Mamelodi Sundowns stretched their lead at the top of the log when they complete the double over Orlando Pirates, beating them 1-0 in the DStv Premiership at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

The young sensational, Cassius Mailula scored the only goal that gave Sundowns a victory on the day. This is the second defeat Orlando Pirates has suffered at the hands of Sundowns this season. Pirates was hoping to beat Sundowns to close  the gap at the top, however, it was not to be.  Much has been said and written before this encounter with much expectations that Pirates would stop Sundowns but it was never the case.

Sundowns is in another level, dominating the domestic league.

As things stand it seems as if there will be nothing stoping Sundowns from defending their tittle again if their current performance is anything to go. They are the team that mean business and are writing new history for South African football.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless against TS Galaxy in another DStv Premiership campaign. The defeat means both Chiefs and Orlando Pirates must fight for the second spot on the DStv Premiership log with Sundowns only waiting to be crowned the league champions at the end of the season.

Speaking after the game Sundowns Head Coach, Rhulani Mokwena refused to accept the fact that Sundowns is already crowned the league champions. He told the media houses that, the league still has a long way before it comes to an end.

“It will be unprofessional if we claim that we have already won the league title. We still have games to play until the end of the season,” said Mokwena.
