Sicelo primary embraces diversity

Talking about the message shared on the day, Mabula says learners were taught about the importance of being proud of where they come from and showcasing different cultures.

MIDVAAL. – Sicelo Primary School is a diverse school, with teachers and pupils from various backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.

In celebration of the diversity boasted by the school, a commemoration of Africa Day was carried out recently.

Deputy Principal, Florence Mabula says, “We had a great celebration celebrating our cultural diversity. Our African learners from neighboring countries were embraced and we allowed them to deliver their speeches using their native tongue.”

The day was celebrated under the theme ‘Africa Unite’.

Talking about the message shared on the day, Mabula says learners were taught about the importance of being proud of where they come from and showcasing different cultures.

“Unity is very important because it promotes love and peace in a nation. It gives people a sense of security and they are able to know each other and be sensitive towards one another.”

Mabula thanked the staff, parents, and learners of the school for contributing to the success of the event.
