Evaton Primary School launches an Anti-Bullying Campaign
This awareness campaign was organized by the Evaton Primary Buddy Club 2023.
EVATON.- The Evaton Primary School launched an Anti-Bullying Campaign in and around the school community recently.
The campaign was aimed at creating awareness about the seriousness of bullying at the school level.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Alice Khumalo, who is behind this initiative and is an educator at the school, said that the campaign was a wakeup-call to the learners and the community. She said that the campaign was an appeal for support to fight bullying prevention and its attachments which impact negatively on individuals who are victims.
This awareness campaign was organized by the Evaton Primary Buddy Club 2023 and coordinated by teachers and learners of the school from grades 1- 7 who are members of the club.

Learners and teachers were carrying placards with the messages reading: “No bullying to teachers, No bullying to learners. Respect one another, Enough Is Enough”.
The Buddy Club 2023 took to the streets of Evaton to communicate the message to the surrounding community.

“The campaign started at school in full view of all learners and teachers where Buddy Club 2023 members raised their concerns about bullying. The impact of bullying in our communities affects individuals psychologically, mentally, and emotionally up to the point where adults and children take their lives.
“This is a societal problem that we all need to stand up and fight against. Look, as a school we experience bullying and as a primary school, we don’t expect this to happen at this level. It becomes worse when parents come to school to complain about some of the incidents regarding bullying at the school,” said Khumalo who is also a member of Buddy Club 2023.
