Members of the community are warned about the rise in motor vehicle theft in Sharpeville.

SHARPEVILLE. – There is a growing concern in Sharpeville due to the rise in motor vehicle theft complaints by members of the community.

According to police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango, police in Sharpeville have opened multiple cases of vehicle theft following complaints from residents.

“We would like to warn members of the community against leaving their valuables inside their vehicles. Members of the community are also urged to ensure that their cars are parked safely inside their yards with windows closed and doors locked.”

Sango advised against leaving purses, laptops, and cellphones inside their vehicles.
“We urge residents to be vigilant at all times and report any form of crime happening in the vicinity.”
