
SEBOKENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) Development League came to an end on Saturday.
The ‘Champs Of Champs’ games took place at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Centre in Zone 14, Sebokeng, with all ELFA streams’ winners coming against each other to produce the overall winners. All the stream winners from different areas namely Evaton, Sebokeng, and Boitshepiville battled against each other in all four divisions, u/11, u/13, u/15, and u/17 to determine the champions for 2023.
The Evaton Stream was represented by Vaal Octopus Development FC in the u/11 age group, Vaal Super Stars FC in the u/13 division, Lakeside Future Stars FC in the u/15, and Vaal Juventus in the u/17 category.
The Sebokeng Stream was represented by Manyora in the u/11, VGSA in the u/13, and VGSA again in the u/15 with Real Scientists FC representing the stream in the u/17. Boitshepiville was represented by Benfica in the u/11 with Qalo PSG FC representing the stream in almost every division, u/13, u/15, and u/17.
The Champs Of Champs for 2023, were Vaal Octopus U/11, VGSA u/13 and u/15 with Vaal Juventus crowned Champs of Champs in the u/17 age group. It was a great day of football with the youngsters showcasing their God-given talent throughout the day.
ELFA Head of Development Master Zondo hailed the games as a great success, congratulating all the winners. Zondo said the league was exciting even though they experienced some challenges in other streams like Boitshepiville.
“I would like to thank everyone for their effort to make this development league and the ‘Champ of Champs’ games a success especially our league administrator, Kelebogile Sehume, for a job well done. I also want to thank Nelkon Security Company for making sure their investment doesn’t go wasted by making this league what it is today,” concluded Zondo.
